The ACT Indigenous Education Consultative Body (ACT IECB) was established in 1997, by the then Minister for Education and Community Services, so that the Government had access to independent advice on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education.

In November 2009, shortly after a new Body was appointed, the Group voted to change the name of the Body to the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Consultative Group (ACT ATSIECG).

The geographic area covered by the ACT ATSIECG is comprised of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and Jervis Bay Territory, which includes the Wreck Bay Aboriginal community.

This site offers you an information on the group's activites, members, publications, and links to other resources. If you have any queries regarding the group and our activities, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

The ACT ATSIECG acknowledges the Ngunnawal people as the traditional custodians of the ACT and region and the role of the Wreck Bay Aboriginal community as the traditional custodians of the Wreck Bay area.

This site includes elements of traditional artwork generously supplied by John Tatten, and artwork created by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ACT school students.
